Legislative update

The House and Senate are scheduled to be in session today at 11 a.m. On the agenda is HB 183, the concealed carry bill with a motion to override the governor’s changes. The House has to act on the bill first, followed by the Senate.

A 10 a.m. hearing in Room 212 is set for the Senate Executive Committee to consider House Bill 11, which includes the governor’s proposed changes for the concealed carry bill:

I do not expect any pension pronouncements or developments today, but that can change. As I mentioned yesterday, a bill to watch this week is House Bill 214:

This is the final piece of the budget and includes appropriations for a number of state agencies and the Legislature. The governor has not acted on this bill yet.
