An update as the veto session starts back up tomorrow:
_Guns – State Rep. Mike Zalewski has filed a new amendment to the SB 1342, the mandatory minimums bill, which can be accessed here. A fact sheet about the bill is attached.
The situation is still fluid, and Mike is having additional conversations tomorrow morning that will help him figure out what might move forward and when. I hope to have an update for you by midday tomorrow.
_Lottery audit – The Legislative Audit Commission meets at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in Room C-1 in the Stratton Building. State Rep. Bob Rita, a member of the commission, has asked the Lottery to answer questions at this hearing about an audit from the summer and questions raised by a BGA/Fox 32 report from a few weeks back about hiring connected to Lottery Superintendent Michael Jones. Let me know if you can make it to the hearing or would want to connect with Bob about it.
_McPier bill – The House Executive Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 118 of the Capitol to hear Rep. Rita’s HB 3728, which makes some changes helpful to unions at McCormick Place from the reforms made a couple of years ago.
_Pensions and gambling – Nothing imminent on these issues as of right now but we’ll know more as the week progresses.
